Natural Lip Blush
Soft colour, improved balance, and the appearance of definition — while keeping your lips looking like your own.
Colour theory first
Why some lips need neutralizing before blush
Lips with cool, brown, purple, or uneven tone will shift any pigment placed over them. Neutralization works with that starting tone first, usually across more than one session, so the final colour reads true.
Natural Lip Blush — Initial Session
Soft colour and definition that keeps your lips looking like your lips.
A light wash of pigment used to improve tone, balance, and the appearance of definition. Healed colour is noticeably softer than the fresh result.
- Suitable for
- Clients wanting subtle colour and improved balance, following a suitability and health review.
- Duration
- 3 hours
- Price
- $375
- Longevity / maintenance
- 1–3 years, with touch-ups available to maintain colour.
- Preparation
- Begin hydrating your lips daily 2 weeks before with a nourishing balm or mask, and gently exfoliate morning and evening for the 3 days before. If you have a history of cold sores, ask your doctor for an antiviral prescription such as Valtrex or Acyclovir. Stop Retin-A/retinol 7 days before, avoid AHA products, chemical peels, laser/IPL, and waxing or bleaching around the mouth, and avoid coffee, energy drinks, alcohol, aspirin, and anti-inflammatories for 24 hours before. Let me know if you have had lip filler, and please reschedule if you have a cold sore, irritation, or severely dry, cracked, or sunburned lips.
- Aftercare
- For the first 24 hours, clean your lips gently with filtered water on cotton rounds, blot away lymph fluid, and apply a thin layer of the recommended ointment several times a day. Drink through a straw and avoid hot, spicy, or acidic foods for at least 3 days. Peeling usually begins on days 4–7 — let it come away naturally and never pick or scratch. Skip lipstick, gloss, and active lip products until healed, and for 2 weeks avoid sun and tanning, intense workouts, swimming, saunas, steam, and excess alcohol. Colour continues to soften and settle over weeks 4–6. Reach out if you notice signs of infection or unusual healing.

Lip Neutralization — Initial Session
A staged approach for cool, brown, purple, or uneven lip tone.
Colour theory is used to work with the lip's starting tone before any blush colour is considered. This is usually a multi-session process and outcomes vary by starting tone and skin response.
- Suitable for
- Clients with naturally cool, brown, purple, or uneven lip tone who are comfortable with a multi-session process.
- Duration
- 3 hours
- Price
- $425
- Longevity / maintenance
- Multi-session process; maintenance sessions may be needed depending on starting tone.
- Preparation

Ombré Lip Blush — Initial Session
A softly shaded lip look with deeper definition at the outer edge and lighter tone toward the centre.

- Suitable for
- Clients wanting a softly defined, longer-lasting lip look with a natural gradient effect.
- Duration
- 3 hours
- Price
- $425
- Longevity / maintenance
- 1–3 years, with touch-ups available to maintain the gradient and tone.

Lip Blush Touch-Up

- Suitable for
- Clients who have completed an initial lip blush or lip neutralization session with H.D. Esthetics.
- Duration
- 2–2.5 hours
- Price
- $200
